Visiting Anne of Green Gables

Hello from L.M. Montgomery’s childhood home, which inspired many elements within Anne of Green Gables, on Prince Edward Island

I grew up watching Anne of Green Gables with my mom and sister (and sometimes one of my aunts). I forever wanted to live in a white house on a few acres of land with a picket fence, near water (and still do, to be honest - minus the nosey neighbor and ornery cow). To this day, I annually watch my favorite redhead venture around Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia making all the heartfelt, hilarious blunders we know and love.

Originally, I was going to go to the west side of North America first, before crossing over and trekking down the east. My mom was going to join me for the first leg but honestly wasn’t as excited about the west. So, me being the gracious and wonderful child that I am, adjusted my plans so we could mother-daughter road trip it up the east side. Honestly, though, I’m so glad I pivoted since it was much more memorable to visit Prince Edward Island track down all things Annes of Green Gables together. One day I’ll find my own Gilbert Blythe but until then, here are some shots from some of my favorite days road-tripping P.E.I.
