For when you’re craving something chocolate but want it fast and easy. This mug cake is packed with chocolatey goodness and perfect solo or topped with a dusting of powdered sugar.
8oz microwave-safe mug

- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 tbsp beaten egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
In a microwave-safe mug (about 8 oz), whisk together with a fork your flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined
To your mug, add the milk, oil, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Pour in your hot water and stir everything until smooth and well combined. Lastly, fold in your chocolate chips.
Place your mug in the microwave and cook on high for 70 seconds, allowing it to set for 1 minute. Check your cake, if it is too wet in the center, microwave for an additional 10-20 seconds.
Let it cool for a few minutes (it will be very hot!) and then enjoy as is or dusted with powdered sugar or whipped cream (or both, you do you!). This also pairs deliciously with a scoop of ice cream
