A quick and delicious Oreo dirt dip from scratch with simple ingredients and no shortcuts! This rich, creamy dessert dip turns a childhood classic into a fluffy, chocolatey treat everyone will love. Perfectly paired with your favorite snack or fresh fruit for an easy sweet treat.
- 18 Oreos
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp milk
- ¾ cup heavy cream divided
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
Place the Oreos in a zip-top bag or food processor. Crush them until they resemble small coarse rocks. You want a mixture of fine crumbs with some larger chunks for texture.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a mixer until smooth
Sift in ½ cup of powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder, beat until fully combined
Add in the milk and beat until smooth. This helps thin out the cream cheese mixture and creates a silky texture.
Gradually pour in the ¼ cup heavy cream and continue to beat until the mixture becomes thick and creamy (about 2-3 minutes)
Fold in your Oreos, setting aside ¼ cup for the top
In a separate bowl, add your remaining ½ cup of heavy cream and sift over your tablespoon of powdered sugar, whip until you have stiff peaks
Fold your whipped cream into your chocolate mixture until combined. Top with the Oreos your saved and cover
Place in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours to set. This allows the flavors to blend and time for the Oreos to soften
Transfer to a serving dish and top with the remaining crushed Oreos
Serve with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, or any of your favorite snacks, and enjoy!
